Welcome to the Billericay Care Home public consultation website.
Aspire LPP is pleased to share its emerging proposals for a new care home at 122 Laindon Road, Billericay.
We are at an early stage in the process and would like to hear the views of local residents, businesses and other stakeholders before submitting a planning application to Basildon Borough Council.
Your feedback will help the project team understand local priorities and consider how to refine the proposals as the scheme progresses.
The proposed care home would meet a need for additional care accommodation for the growing population of older people.
Basildon faces the highest care bed need in South Essex, with demand rising to 380 new care home bedspaces by 2040. Across South Essex as a whole, the requirement reaches 2,239 bedspaces by 2040.

The site is located at 122 Laindon Road, Billericay, CM129LE.
The site is well related to local services, public transport connections and the wider Billericay community.
The site is well positioned adjacent to the approved
development (24/00762/OUT), which will deliver 250 new homes with access from Laindon Road, reflecting the area’s planned residential growth and connectivity.
The proposed building will be sensitively designed and substantially screened by landscaping, helping to soften its appearance and integrate it into the local setting.
The scheme will include well-landscaped, secure outdoor amenity areas for residents.
These gardens will provide safe and attractive spaces for residents to spend time outdoors, supporting their health and well-being while ensuring that movement can be appropriately managed where required for their safety.
The proposed care home has been designed to sit comfortably within its surroundings on Laindon Road. The building will be set within a landscaped site, with existing and proposed trees helping to screen views, soften its appearance and create an attractive setting.
The building is proposed with a traditional residential character, including pitched roofs, brick detailing, tiled roofing and well-proportioned windows. These features will help the care home reflect the scale and appearance of nearby homes while providing a welcoming and familiar environment.
The design includes varied rooflines, projecting gables and recessed sections to add interest and reduce the perceived scale of the building. Large windows and patio-style doors will help bring natural light into residents’ rooms and shared spaces.
The layout has been carefully considered to provide access, parking and landscaped areas within the site, while maintaining a comfortable relationship with neighbouring properties and the wider streetscene.
Overall, the design aims to provide a calm, attractive and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff, while meeting the needs of a modern care home.
